Saturday Reflection for Pastors

September 26, 2015 0 comments

It is Saturday. More than likely you are putting the finishing touches on a sermon for tomorrow (hopefully not the starting touches). It may be your first sermon, perhaps it is one of hundreds, maybe even thousands of sermons you have preached. Either way let me challenge you to NOT just deliver ANOTHER sermon tomorrow.

Take a word from God to your people. I was just reading a devotional on Ezekiel 37:7 “So I prophesied as I was commanded” about Ezekiel going on a God chosen assignment to be obedient. It spurred me to pray for God to remove anything in my sermon that is not from Him. I want to carry forth the message He has given. Pastors, don’t just preach “a” message tomorrow. Preach the message that God has given you. Preach the one that burns in your heart. Don’t merely pass on information (as interesting as it may be), but give out what God has given.

If you knew tomorrow was the last message you would ever preach, would you preach the message you are planning to preach?
