People have proven that they will resort to extreme measures when presented with extreme circumstances. Look at people in a survival situation. Whether that is Aron Ralston cutting off his arm, the Uruguayan Rugby team deciding whether to eat the bodies of their friends, or anyone who has been lost at sea. We do extreme things in extreme circumstances.
Doesn’t that make it ironic (or tragic) that as believers living in an time of extreme circumstances, we can be so casual in the fight against sin? A fight that Jesus says is far more significant than physical survival?
